Customs Duties Update: No Increase in Your Overall Expenses
Update on U.S. Customs Tariff Policy - February 8:
Due to a revision of the executive order, low-value tax exemptions for goods from China are postponed until further notice. Your order does not need to pay customs duties.
Timeline of Tariff Policy Changes
-
February 4, 2025: The U.S. will implement a new tariff policy that imposes an additional 10% tariff on all goods imported from China. The previous exemption for items valued under $800 will be removed, meaning all crystals imported from China will now incur these additional charges.
-
February 5, 2025: We will change our shipping terms to DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid) for U.S. customers. Customers will be responsible for paying customs duties; however, we will issue corresponding gift cards as compensation to ensure your costs remain unchanged. We are committed to supporting our customers.
-
February 6, 2025: We received reports from customers indicating that the customs duties charged were significantly higher than the order amount. We urgently contacted UPS to find a solution. Affected customers should not pay unreasonable duties; they can file a complaint with UPS regarding excessive charges and submit their invoice information as supporting documentation. We will continue to follow up on this situation.
-
February 7, 2025: Many packages have been subjected to excessive customs duties. As a result, we adjusted our logistics channels. Unshipped packages will first be sent to our U.S. warehouse, and then transmitted to customers’ addresses from the warehouse. The expected delivery time is approximately 12 business days, but duties may not be required (subject to verification). The actual outcome is yet to be observed.

Change in Shipping Terms to DDU for U.S. Deliveries.
Overview of DDU
DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid) is an international shipping term that indicates the seller delivers the goods to a destination specified by the buyer, but does not take responsibility for paying the customs duties.
Key Features of DDU:
Seller's Responsibility: The seller is responsible for transporting the goods safely to the agreed destination but is not responsible for any duties or fees associated with importing them into the destination country.
Buyer's Responsibility: Once the goods reach the destination, the buyer must complete the customs clearance process and pay the respective duties and taxes.
Customs Clearance Process
- Package Arrival at Customs: When an international package arrives in the U.S., customs will review it to assess the value of the items and any applicable duties.
- Duties and Fees Assessment: Customs will assess the applicable duties and fees based on the value and nature of the goods, as well as the relevant tax rates.
- Customer Notification: The courier service (such as UPS, FedEx, etc.) will typically contact the customer via email, text, or phone to inform them of the duty amount and payment options.
-
Choosing a Payment Method: Customers can pay duties through the following methods:
- Online Payment: Customers can pay duties through the courier's website, usually requiring the tracking number and payment information.
- Credit/Debit Card: At the time of delivery, the courier may accept credit or debit card payments for duties.
- Cash Payment: In some cases, customers may choose to pay duties in cash upon delivery.
- Completing Payment: Customers should complete the duty payment according to their chosen payment method.
- Package Release: Once the duty payment is completed, customs will release the package, and the courier will deliver it to the customer.
Don't worry, the process is simple, the courier will charge you this fee when the goods arrive at your address.
Duties You May Have to Pay
Taxes | Order Value |
---|---|
$1 - $20 | $0 - $2,000 |
$10 - $50 | $2,000 - $5,000 |
Please note that there can be instances where customs may improperly assess duties, resulting in charges exceeding this range. If you find that the fees you need to pay far exceed these typical amounts, please contact us immediately and reach out to UPS/FedEx to file a dispute.
