Introduction to lavender rose quartz, rutilated rose quartz and star rose quartz

Rose quartz is primarily composed of silica, which is pink due to trace amounts of manganese and titanium. Rose quartz is classified into four types based on its internal structure and color: general rose quartz, rutilated rose quartz, star rose quartz, and lavender rose quartz.

We will not discuss general rose quartz in this article because it is too common...

Star rose quartz

Star rose quartz: The most notable feature of star rose quartz is its ability to refract six rays of light from a single light source, giving it the appearance of twinkling stars. Its primary origin is Mozambique.

Rutilated rose quartz

Rutilated rose quartz is a variety of quartz which contains acicular (needle-like) inclusions of rutile. These inclusions mostly look silver. They can be distributed randomly or in bundles, which sometimes are arranged star-like, and they can be sparse or dense enough to make the rose quartz body nearly opaque.

The characteristics of this rose quartz are clearly visible in the video above.

Lavender Rose Quartz

Lavender Rose Quartz is a variety of macrocrystalline (large crystal) Quartz that comes in rare lavenders, a pastel tint of violet (medium violet or a light pinkish-purple). Neither Amethyst nor a Chalcedony, this uncommon addition to the Quartz family has it owns unique color and is only available from a single mine. Mined directly from host rock, Lavender Rose Quartz comes from the Boquira Mine in the municipality (município) of Oliveira dos Brejinhos in the northern Brazilian state of Bahia.

Lavender Rose Quartz

Rose quartz should not be exposed to direct sunlight for an extended period of time because the color will fade. most mines will cover it with cloth or store it in a shed after mining it.

How to Evaluate Natural Rose Quartz Quality:

1. The higher the transparency, the better the rose quartz.

2. The higher the quality, the darker the rose quartz.

3. Ordinary quality rose quartz has white lines and yellow impurities, or natural cracks.

4. Under a flashlight, no polishing marks (fine scratches) can be seen.

After purchasing rose quartz, take the following precautions:

1. Avoid touching cosmetics, perfumes, acid-base substances, or sulfides (which will make the surface of rose quartz rough).

2. Please store it in a softer container.

3. Rose quartz will turn white when exposed to high temperatures, so avoid direct sunlight and hot environments.

4. Rose quartz is a delicate product; avoid knocking, squeezing, or colliding with it.
